Enhancing Confidential Enclave's Demo Center Experience : Anjuna

Anjuna

Web App I www.anjuna.io

My Role

  • Product Strategy

  • User Research

  • Brainstorming & wireframing

  • UI/UX Revamp

Anjuna.io provides a unique confidential computing software designed to secure sensitive data using encryption and secure enclaves. The software ensures data remains protected in any environment, whether on-premises or in the cloud.

The Problem
To effectively showcase this technology to potential clients, the team faced a significant challenge: developing a demo environment that would allow clients to understand and experience how Anjuna’s confidential computing technology operates in practice. Despite the product’s seamless functionality without a traditional user interface, a well-designed demo environment was crucial as a sales tool. This demo environment served as a key channel through which clients could engage with and understand Anjuna's technology.

The founding team adopted a two-pronged approach to address this challenge, enabling potential clients to either attend live demo sessions or explore the demo environment online. Ensuring that clients could fully grasp the benefits and functionality of Anjuna’s technology made it imperative to enhance the user experience (UX) of the demo center and create a more compelling narrative.

The Design Challenge

Usability review

When I onboarded the project, a demo centre was already built but faced challenges in smooth experience. My first task was to do an in-depth usability review of the entire platform and create a list of prioritized actionable recommendations. As the product was already live, we were not aiming at a complete overhaul but incremental changes in UI and user flows.

The Process :

As there is no precedent of such a product in the market, I heavily leaned on my learnings in usability and user interviews to improve the product. There was also a personal challenge of the learning curve to understand how Anjuna.io works. The other challenge was that the sales experience was a continually evolving understanding of the internal team; hence, we pivoted a lot and brought in new concepts.

The Design Approach

Gathering Requirements and User Research

While doing the user interviews, I was able to break down the demo process into stages which allowed  me see the customers / internal demo personal journey now effectively in parts

Design Approach:

The design approach taken is sprint- based in nature, where design features are introduced as either a request from the internal/ marketing team.

ROLE

I was  been closely involved as the Lead Designer to help redesign the Demo Centre( amongst other products  for the internal and external stakeholders to be able to access the technology in an easy to use  manner.

-Working on revamping the Anjuna Demo console

-Setting up design systems and evaluating Usability issues

-Conducting user research to understand the painpoints of stakeholders

PRODUCT DESIGN PRINCIPLES

Software from Anjuna Security effortlessly enables enterprises to safely run even their most sensitive workloads in the public cloud. Hence, we wanted to reflect the same sense of security in Design experience as well. The other aspects were flexibilty/ adaptivity of the software .

Some Key Improvements :

Mapping Opportunities and Information architecture

Many changes and improvements were made in the platform over the course of 1-2 years. Some of the critical ones were

  1. Access and visibility to the live demo

  2. Improvement of user flow to access tutorials

  3. Reducing the perception of waiting time during demo loading and resetting

Impact

Since it was a high tough enterprise sales environment there aren’t that many engagements to measure a before-and-after change. So here’s some stats and feedback that I was able to collect:

Quantitative:

  • 100% of buying customers saw multiple demos through the Demo C - key sales feature

  • 691 demo runs by external users (relatively untrained)

  • 1048 demo runs by internal users in last 90 days

  • Reduced estimated time to get started with Nitro from 1+ hour to <5 minutes (quickstart)

Qualitative:

Some of the comments on the

  • Demo Center was key to signing the a major partnership deal - multiple people mentioned it was a better sales tool than anything they had internally

  • Some “other inputs - whoever put these visualizations tother, huge compliments, this is absolutely amazing" (about the use case viz)

  • “the best demo they have seen”
